Intresting news this early on a thursday morning before the sun even thinks about making an appearence.
Our mortgage blog's traffic has nose dived and this blog is now leading the way with a few hits a day.
Squidoo has disappeared from the SERP's too. I have looked into this and apparently this is the lull before the storm. I certainly hope so.
Enough is enough the net needs to be widened so we will do that over the weeked. Will probably use the same domain.
Ok we have been moving fast on the current approach without much success but we have learnt new practices from some friends in the community.
Keyword research is where its at. For the moment anyway.
I have always whacked the highly competative world of mortgage related business but we possibly should branch out. We are luck at the moment if we make a dollar a week with one blog.
So are we going to be doubling the dollars if we have 2 blogs? Who knows but we will post the results here if we take this route.
What niche to choose? I fancy something a little less competetive
Still very little traffic coming in although forum posting seems to be the most successful and the organic trickle continues.
Maybe a few more diggs might help and I just for this new service called ping o matic.
I am reluctant to buy traffic or exchange or pay per click. So we must keep our efforts going in the same direction. We have a CTR of around 15% and a payout of 1$ on average so we need 80 unique visitors per day to reach the goal of 10$ per day.
What should we be doing here? If anyone has any ideas please leave a comment.

Well we have posted some articles and some squidoo's and google is delivering a trickle of traffic through organic SEO. In the last 7 days we have had 2 organic hits on our squidoo page and 3 organic hits on our mortgage blog.
Now that's is hardly going to bring in the dollars is it but what does this mean in the long run......
Well we are obviously indexed, we have no backlinks accourding to the webmaster tools and we have no page rank. However the stats also show an increase in crawl rate.
Yahoo are reporting we have back links but the pages are not showing in the index.
Live are showing sweet fa
Plan of action, carry on carry on. We need to push trough the pain barrier.
So the first full week as come to an end and I think I am going to call it a victory for me. We have learnt some new things regarding squidoo and lots about writing articles and the need to generate enough money in the paypal account to outsource the article writting.
Currently we are using the following methods:
Squidoo lenses (2)
Posts to mortgage blog (7)
Backlinking to mortgage blog (6)
Articles submitted (2)
All of this produced a whopping $2.22 through various sources. It is against terms and conditions to discuss what I earned from each stream.
Due to the success of my squidoo indexing quickly we are going to try and create another 5 lenses next week, continue to post every day and submit a further 3 articles to ezine and associated content. I am also very interested in digg.com too as I am hearing great success is coming from these parts of the information super web, anyway thats just research. The main focus is just to keep creating.

Anyway to the chase, I created a squidoo page yesterday, some 26 hours later I am indexed and getting visitors because I am page one for my choosen keyword!!
Fluke or error it is not clear at the moment so lets monitor it over the weekend and see where we are at. It is however very encouraging I think.
Right, so after 12 hours of creating a "lens" I have been accepted into a group and been assigned my rankings which are toooo embarassing to post here:)
I have recieved 7 visitors so far from all sources which is not a bad return considering I spent 1 hour on these and they have only been live for 12 hours. First impressions are this could work. For example 2 lens per day and the rough maths works out to 100 visitors per 24 hours. This is a conservertive figure couple this together with them not even being indexed in search engines yet we could well be onto a winner.
Its cheap and cheerfull to be honest, because I have spent a while on my blogs but traffic is slow. So a slight tweak to the plan is to make a lens per day, 2 post to the mortgage blog and one post here for updates. If I get any squidoo tips I will post them here to.
Right after the debacle that was Yahoo Answers we have turned to a google friendly approach. We are creating good quality "lenses" for our readers and seeing what happens.
I am told its a good idea to post regularly to each lens to keep the fresh so thats what I will do. I might make a few more as I go but here are the first 2 please check them out.
Well, you know I started downthe yahoo answers path like 2 days ago? I posted 2 replies and got voted best answer for both. However I have been terminated, exterminated and left for dead.
The reasons I am citing for this are either:
- I posted a link to a blog
- I voted for myself (hahaha)
- I voted everyone else down and said they were rubbish
What do you think was the cause?
Apart from my new partner, we are currently experimenting with Commission Junction, Associated Content, EZine and Adsense. We are also now trying to drive traffic through organic search results. We have many tips to share with the world as we find out how each method does not work we will post the details here. It would be fair to say that arbitraging was not successful and I have only made $2 profit. We could try selling the traffic from different sources but unless you really luck into your niche you will find it almost impossible.
Other techniques we are researching at the moment include auto blogging and outsourcing content. If we go with any of these I will be sure to post the information here.
As part of an on-going quest for page rank and traffic to the mortgage blog. I have enrolled in yahoo answers.
I have been told that answering these questions on relative topics and providing a link can help generate traffic and targeted visitors. I have posted 2 answers so far and I wait to see if they were accepted. I think we may have to wait weeks before anyresults but you never know. Some people have been suggesting that it CAN get you indexed in google within 48 minutes!! We will see. Update on this set for 2 weeks today.
The Web revenue experiment is pleased to announce that he has teamed up with someone incredibly knowledgeable on traffic generation. It would be fair to say that this experiment will last for up to 6 months and we are looking to increase ad sense earnings along with affiliate marketing schemes.
As before details of each week of the steps taken to increase traffic will be posted here along with the stats from visitors and earnings will be published.
It is also the plan that this blog will turn itself into a valued testimonial for the person who is undertaking this work for me out of the goodness of his heart.
Methods used will also be documented however currently the names will remain a mystery. This is a request from my partner until he has launched his New service. Then these details will be revealed.
